Project details
● Overview

SaaS Platform enabling Amsterdam residents to share their private collections using APIs.

Context

Oba is the central library of Amsterdam. Their main mission is to preserve knowledge and make it available for everyone. I had the chance to work with this client during my studies at the Master Digital Design. Our team had 8 weeks to complete this project.

Challenge

The objective was to create a service for individuals & small organisations in Amsterdam to share their at-home collections with OBA's online library through their API.

Approach

We built a website with a form to enable all Amsterdammers to list their items. In order to raise awareness, we hosted an AR exhibition inside the main OBA library where we showcase selected items. To reach even more people, we worked out an ad campaign with stickers across the city which increases engagement.

● Microsite

Microsite to promote service

Our team worked on a form which enables Amsterdam citizens to upload their private collection. To promote this new service, I created a microsite which leads to the upload experience but also teases the AR exhibition.

● Upload Form

Upload form with two separate flows

User research revealed that there is a big difference in their needs. For example, while collectors with many items prefer a quick and easy way to enter data, others may need some support or a more detailed option. So, we worked on two different workflows to cover both needs.

● AR Exhibition

Augmented Reality Exhibition

To raise awareness about this new service, we planned and hosted an exhibition in the main Oba library in Amsterdam. There, we showcased different items in Augmented Reality.

Oba can use this website to give all Amsterdammers the opportunity to list their items in Oba's online library. With the AR exhibition, we have raised awareness and sparked conversations.
